Subclass 482
Suitability
Ongoing full-time work assignments in Australia by direct employer or by third party (more than 6 months)
The TSS program subclass 482 provides access to a global workforce to quickly fill skilled positions to meet business goals. You may be looking to expand your current business operations, facilitate an intercompany transfer or look to fill a skilled position that cannot be filled by the local Australian market.
Timeframe
Before we lodge your application
The sponsoring business undertakes Labour market testing and preparation of supporting documents, this may take up to 28 days. The review and lodgement of application will take between 1-4 days.

Cost
The cost of the visa application can vary depending on the size of a business, the applicant’s current visas status, occupation and if they have any family members migrating as well. Most cost between $2,500 – $10,000.
A mandatory LEVY must be paid for all nominated positions known as the Skilling Australians Fund SAF;
- Businesses with turnover less than $10M – $1,200.00 AUD per year
- Businesses with turnover more than $10M – $1,800.00 AUD per year
Workforce Factors
Visa holders are usually degree qualified with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Subclass 482 (On-hire Labour Agreement)

A solution for businesses needing to mobilise employees quickly and for a short project is the visa subclass 400. Typically, this visa will be used for management, professional and technicians and trades position that cannot be filled by an Australia for a short and specialised project.

Key Considerations and Compliance

- The overseas worker must be outside of Australia at the time of lodging the visa application.
Subclass 600
Suitability
The business visitor visa subclass 600 allows business travellers to fly into Australia quickly to undertake business related activities. This visa is for anyone looking to visit Australia for business activities but not work. For example, to attend a meeting, negotiate a contract, attend a seminar, event, or conference.

Key Considerations and Compliance
- Visa holders must not undertake activities which would usually be considered work in Australia.
- The visa can be granted for 12 months, and visa holders can enter Australia for a period of up to 3 months per visit.
Subclass 417 / 462
Suitability
Work and travel in Australia for 1-2 years. Work for one employer for 6 months.
Specific passport holders who are under the age of 31 or under the age of 35 if a Canadian passport holder can gain great work experience working for employers for up to 6 months whilst they also travel and enjoy Australia as the holder of either a visa subclass 417 or 462.

Key Considerations and Compliance
- On grant, visa holders can enter and work in Australia for a period of up 12 months and work for an employer for up to 6 months.
- Your business or a third party can employ the visa holder.
- There are no restrictions regarding the type of role or nature of work to be undertaken.
- The visa is valid for 12 months from entry and an additional year can sometimes be granted if you work in a regional area for 3 months.
- Applicants coming from certain countries may be required to show evidence of funds.
- Some applicants may be required to provide police checks or undertake a medical examination.
